Love this place!! The 5 nigiri piece deal is the absolute best value. Such incredible sushi and a great value. Been here twice and I will be back again. In a nice neighborhood vibe too.

Komé is good but could be great. The huge menu is a catch all of everything you could expect from Japanese cuisine. It's almost so much that there are too many options. Thankfully, most a very good choices! The fries are great. It's weird to start with that but they really are. Same goes for pretty much any sushi. You'll be able to taste the freshness of the fish. However, avoid the curry and katsu. My katsu can only be described as overdone. The breading tasted nearly burnt dry and banding in the meat (see my photo) shows how it was separating from being cooked too long. The curry is as disappointing as their sister restaurant. It's weak enough that I'd venture I could produce a better curry in bulk. So do come here and enjoy the sushi, but don't venture into the other menu items. They'd really shine by focusing on a core menu with less accompanying dishes.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My wife and I went to Kome last week and had an absolutely excellent sushi dinner. We arrived right when they opened and were able to grab a table for two — which worked out perfectly because this place fills up FAST. If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend making a reservation or arriving early like we did. The moment you walk into this charming sushi restaurant, you feel transported into a cozy little spot you’d imagine finding in Japan. One of the most memorable details is the collection of colorful waving lucky cats throughout the restaurant. They add such a fun, welcoming energy and pops of cheerful color everywhere you look. The open sushi counter makes the experience even better. Watching the chefs carefully craft each roll and plate adds to the atmosphere and anticipation of the meal itself. Great Japanese restaurant in Austin. The salmon and tuna rolls were delicious, and the komè viche was flavorful and tangy. I loved the warm interior design of the dining area with cat figurines alongside the walls. The highlight of our meal had to be the chazuke: the broth was delicious and paired well with the salmon, roe, bonito, and crispy rice onigiri. It was so good we ordered it again. Servers were attentive and the overall vibe of the restaurant was warming and inviting, and deservingly busy even on a Monday night.

My friend and I are visiting Austin from out of town and decided to stop at Komé for a casual lunch today because of all the on line recommendations for the restaurant. While everything was amazing, I really want to highlight the staff and, especially, our waitress (I am so sorry, I forgot your name despite asking for it a second time). She was prompt, very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable of the menu, giving us great suggestions when asked. Of course, all the other staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful, as well. As on line individuals described, the food came out quickly, while respecting our coursing, and delicious. Everything was, obviously, also of great quality despite being so affordable. We started off with the "aji fry" which was perfectly breaded, had a nice tender texture, and paired perfectly with the tartar sauce accompanying it. My friend ordered the "kitsune udon" and thoroughly enjoyed it with a side of steamed rice. I ordered the "chirashi-don", which our waitress recommended and had a variety of sashimi and definitely did not skimp out on the seafood. Everything on it was very fresh.
